| | A quick recap on the making of the first episode...Sunday December 29th : D-1
"My agenda is clear: if I want to uphold my plans for this brand new web-series CHAM' LINES, I really have to capture the first episode right now. The snow conditions are difficult at the beginning of the season this year. I really looked in detail at the faces that I know well to find good conditions, but it's hard. Then a line caught my eye opposite to Les Grands Montets, between col du Passon and Aiguille du Chardonnet. I scoped it for a solid hour and then decided to go for it.
Once in Chamonix, I met with my friends Doud's CHARLET and Vivian BRUCHEZ and told them about the line that I saw and discussed with them if they would be interested in coming with me the next day, when good weather is expected. Their answer was the one I was expecting: a big YES! It will be the first time for me on this line. The meeting is set for Monday at 9am in the parking lot of Les Grands Montets."
Monday December 30th: D Day
"On Monday morning, once in the first tram at Les Grands Montets we finally got the name of this nice couloir that I checked the day before: Les Détélards. After the first approach we have to climb the 933 vertical meters of the couloir to reach the top. A long climb, longer than expected (4h30), due to a lot of fresh snow in the couloir, some places with more than 80cm... But the three of us knew then that the descent would be even better in these conditions!
The result was beyond our expectations: 15 minutes of pure riding in perfect snow down to the bottom. A real dream if we consider the difficult weather and snow conditions of the beginning of the season. This first CHAM' LINES episode was a great adventure shared with my two friends, who love these mountains as much as I do."
