CHAM'LINES #2 : "Les Poubelles couloir"

In this second episode, I was accompanied by my freerider "godson", Léo Slemett along with Medhi Bidault (a mountain guide) as I left to find a line. Although the snow was big and beautiful, the weather conditions during the previous few days did not make it easy! And the wind had been blowing at high altitudes with many "slab spots".

More than the particular line (and in spite of it!), it was the snow conditions that peaked our interest. The verdict had been set, this week, we chose to ski the "Poubelles" couloir! This run is very steep (45°), and narrow, but also very beautiful. It's easy to access because it's located at the summit of the Bochard cable-car run but does, however, require a short rappel before diving into the heart of it.

Once the ropes and carabiners had been put away, the first turns set the tone: the conditions were stable and provided us with a superb descent to the base of the "Pas de Chèvre" before we finished with a flourish at the "Mer de Glace". This beautiful run is well known by the locals since it never disappoints!

It was a great warm-up for the Freeride World Tour stage in Chamonix scheduled tomorrow!
